Granite - Rib Mountain, Wisconsin
At one point believed to be the highest point in Wisconsin, today Rib Mountain is merely the second-highest. The mountain rises several hundred feet above Wausau, and at its summit a rocky outcropping about 20 feet tall juts up like a hitchhiker’s thumb. I have long been interested in photographing the rugged cracks and textures of the granite monolith, and finally captured this image very early on a weekday morning — the only time when there aren’t crowds climbing all over the rocks.
Photographs will be printed on Hahnemuhle Silk Baryta fine art photographic paper. I will personally review, sign, and number each print sold. The photographs will be delicately rolled into a rigid tube and mailed for your pleasure. Each photograph will include a small border to help with matting and framing once it arrives at your door.
Photographs will be limited to a run of 100 prints each (inclusive of all sizes), after which no more prints will be created.
I am currently only offering rolled prints, but if you are interested in receiving your artwork in another medium - acrylic, aluminum, etc. - please contact me to discuss the available options.
