Manido Falls, Michigan
Michigan's Upper Peninsula is sparsely populated, heavily forested, and a number of spectacular waterfalls can be found throughout the region. Near the western tip of the peninsula the Presque Isle River flows north into Lake Superior, with several waterfalls over the couple of miles.
Manido Falls is definitely not the tallest falls - nearby Manabezho Falls is taller - but its breadth and depth give it a character all its own. Years of erosion have carved deep potholes and striking curves into the rock, showing off the power of water and time.
